Mission Statement

Our Mission is to be a holistic child-focused residential treatment center that helps children to develop socially, physically, emotionally, and cognitively under the care and guidance of highly trained professionals and within a child-friendly environment always.

Vision

At North Star RTC, we believe that children learn through play. Our vision is to provide opportunities for children to explore, discover, create, and imagine by using evidence-based practices through treatment, counseling, structure, and supervision.

Model and Philosophy

North Star RTC is a newly organized Residential Treatment Center. We will treat boys and girls ages 6-12. North Star RTC is designed to meet the treatment, educational and health needs of children with severe emotional and behavioral problems.

North Star RTC believes the environment plays a major role in the success of a residential treatment center. We will enhance the children’s interest in all development domains. We believe learning in our environment is done most successfully through stations that can be visited , explored and revisited again and again. The environment should take into consideration the social skills, communication skills, physical abilities or challenges, and learning styles of the children being served.

Our trained and experienced staff will give children the structure he or she needs through safe and supportive programs to grow and channel his or her recovery towards a more positive life full of potential.

Treatment Modalities 

North Star RTC incorporates trauma informed care and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) treatment modalities to teach children the skills needed to cope with strenuous circumstances and develop more adaptive understanding and perceptions of the trauma.
